Hospital management software

Hospital management software for the people running the day.

One system for the record, the schedule, the results and the bill. MediLounge replaces the spreadsheet, the paper register and the disconnected desktop tools with a single workspace your whole team can read.

Why it matters

The problem is not the number of features.

Most hospitals do not fail because they lack a system. They fail because the system they have only knows part of the story.

A patient arrives and is written into a register. A doctor sees them and writes notes on a different sheet. The laboratory runs a test on a third piece of paper, and the accounts team works from a fourth. At the end of the day somebody reconciles all of it — usually the person with the least time.

Hospital management software earns its place when that reconciliation stops being a job. When the front desk registers a patient, the doctor should already see the history. When the doctor orders a test, the laboratory should already have the order. When the result is ready, the balance should already be correct.

That is the whole idea behind MediLounge: not more features, but one shared picture that every role reads from and writes to.

  • One patient record, current at the moment of care
  • Appointments, walk-ins and the daily queue in the same place
  • Laboratory orders and results attached to the visit they belong to
  • Pharmacy dispensing that updates the patient's balance
  • Billing that is settled online or at the desk without a second system

What is included

Every module a hospital actually runs on.

Not a roadmap. These are the screens your team opens on a normal Tuesday.

Patient records

Register a patient once and every later visit inherits the record — demographics, visit history, open balance and uploaded documents.

  • Searchable register with hospital-issued patient IDs
  • Visit history and invoices on one profile
  • Document upload for referrals and reports

Appointments and queue

Book ahead, take walk-ins, and see the waiting room as it really is. Confirmed, checked-in and completed are states the whole team can read.

  • Booked appointments and walk-in queue side by side
  • Reschedule without losing the trail
  • Live wait picture for the front desk

Consultations

Open a visit, read the history, write the encounter and order a test without leaving the patient's page.

  • Encounter notes attached to the visit
  • Lab orders raised from the consultation
  • Nurses and doctors can both record an encounter

Laboratory

Orders arrive with the context they need. Results are recorded against the order and become visible to the clinician who asked.

  • Order queue per patient and per day
  • Result entry restricted to laboratory roles
  • Result view for the requesting clinician

Pharmacy

See stock, catch low levels early, and dispense against a visit so medication is part of the record rather than a separate ledger.

  • Drug catalogue per hospital
  • Low-stock view before it becomes a crisis
  • Dispensing recorded against the patient

Billing and payment

Raise an invoice, take payment at the desk or online, and know the outstanding balance without asking anyone.

  • Invoices generated per visit
  • Online payment through Flutterwave
  • Cash and transfer recorded on the same invoice

Roles and staff

Invite the team, assign a role, and change it the moment somebody's job changes. Access takes effect immediately, not at the next login.

  • Front desk, clinical, billing, pharmacy, laboratory, admin
  • Invitation links for new accounts
  • Deactivation that takes effect at once

Departments and settings

Describe your hospital the way it is actually organised, and keep clinic-wide details in one editable place.

  • Departments that match your structure
  • Clinic details used across invoices and documents
  • Multi-tenant by design — one hospital, one data set

Role-aware by design

The right detail, at the right moment.

A system that shows everybody everything is a system nobody trusts. MediLounge is shaped around the shift each person is working.

Front desk

Register patients, keep the queue moving and hand over a prepared list at every shift change.

Doctors and nurses

Move from appointment to consultation with the history, the results and the plan on one screen.

Billing and operations

See what is due, what has cleared and where the day needs attention before it becomes a backlog.

Hospital leaders

Read the day as a whole — volume, queue, outstanding balances and where the team is stretched.

Getting started

Live the same day, not next quarter.

There is nothing to install and no migration project to fund before you can judge it.

  1. 01

    Create your hospital

Sign up with a work email. Your hospital, its settings and its first administrator are created in one step.

  2. 02

    Describe your departments

Add the departments you actually run. A brand-new hospital can book with free-text departments, so this is never a blocker.

  3. 03

    Invite the team

Send invitations, or create accounts directly with a known password for staff who cannot receive email.

  4. 04

    Start with today

Register the patients arriving now and book tomorrow's appointments. Historic records can follow at the pace your team can manage.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, no hedging.

What is hospital management software?

Hospital management software is a system that runs the administrative and clinical work of a hospital or clinic in one place: patient records, appointments, consultations, laboratory orders, pharmacy stock, billing and staff access. MediLounge covers all of these in a single workspace so that a change made by the front desk is immediately visible to the doctor, the pharmacist and the accounts team.

What is the difference between an HMS and an EMR?

An EMR (electronic medical record) stores the clinical record for a patient — history, consultations, results and medication. An HMS (hospital management system) is broader: it includes the EMR and also runs scheduling, the walk-in queue, billing, invoices, pharmacy dispensing and staff roles. MediLounge is an HMS with the clinical record built in, so the two are never reconciled by hand.

How long does it take to move off spreadsheets or an old system?

Most small and mid-sized facilities are running live the same day. There is no installation: you create a hospital account, add your departments and staff, and start registering patients. The practical question is not the software but the data — historical paper or spreadsheet records are usually entered as patients return rather than migrated in one pass.

Does MediLounge handle online payment?

Yes. Invoices can be settled online through Flutterwave, and the payment is verified against the provider before the invoice is marked paid. Cash and transfer payments are recorded through the same invoice, so the balance a patient sees is the same balance the accounts team sees.

Is MediLounge cloud-based hospital management software?

Yes. MediLounge runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install on each machine and no server to maintain. Staff can sign in from the reception desk, a consultation room or a laptop at home, and everyone sees the same current record.
